KW Career Compass LEG Up! to Work Summer 2024

Date: May 6, 2024 – August 30, 2024
(closed May 20, July 1, August 5)

Cost: $300.00 per person (passport funding eligible)

Location: KW Habilitation, 99 Ottawa Street South, Kitchener

This in-person Summer Job Readiness course includes:

  • 18 hours in class learning during the first 5 weeks (Tuesdays and Thursdays 4-6pm)
  • Hands on skills evaluation at 2 or 3 different community sites (approximately 6 hours)
  • Practice interviews with community partners (approximately 2 hours)
  • Literacy Evaluation (approximately 1.5 hours)
  • After the class portion, a plan will be created with you that can include continued skill building, volunteerism and job development

• Rights & Responsibilities
• Being Professional in the Workplace
• The Realities of Work
• Managing Work and Personal Life
• Goals and Barriers
• Job Search and Interview Skills
• Learn the importance of giving and receiving both positive and negative feedback

You will be working with Job Coaches during the course to develop your skills and look for summer employment. If hired, we can help you learn the job and offer bus training.
