KW Habilitation, Project READ and The Literacy Group are partnered to provide this new course. It will prepare adults 18+ with a developmental disability for work in material handling.
After the course, each person will work with a Skills Trainer for 3 months on their goal to find a job in material handling. Following that time, support may continue on a fee for service basis.
This 8 week, in person Job Readiness Course Includes:
- 36 hours in class learning during the first 6 weeks (Wednesdays and Fridays 9:00am -12:00 pm)
- Hands on skills check up at 2 or 3 different community sites (approximately 6 hours) to occur over the 8 weeks (days and times to be discussed the first week of class)
- Practice interviews with community partners (approximately 2 hours)
- Location: KW Habilitation, 99 Ottawa Street South, Kitchener
