YEP Summer Week 7 Out of the World Week

More Information about YEP

YEP is an interactive and engaging summer program for youth ages 13 – 21. YEP is not a Summer Camp.

We focus on the exploration of community resources, and will use the GRT and walking as primary modes of transportation. Each day, the group travels throughout Waterloo Region to a variety of social, recreation, leisure, and work/volunteer learning activities. Our objective is to build important skills that will help youth to be successful in their personal, school and work lives.

By fostering self-confidence, independence, healthy living, environmental awareness, learning, leadership and other skills that prove beneficial long into adulthood by:

• Navigating the Kitchener-Waterloo community using the GRT
• Increasing awareness of volunteer and work prospects available
• Understanding what is available within our community and how to access these resources
• Practicing skills in self-advocacy, self-reliance, and self-determination
• Interacting with other youth, develop friendships, and build relationships

Please note: YEP is a physically active program.

Please note: All of our Instructors receive First Aid and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training as well as course specific training including Safe Food Handling, Mental Health First Aid, Clear Language and other trainings where required.
