KW Career Compass LEG Up! to Retail Fall 2024

This course is passport funding eligible.
Location: KW Habilitation, 99 Ottawa Street South, Kitchener

This course will prepare adults 18+ with a developmental disability for work in retail. When the course is complete, there will be a meeting to discuss the next steps of your employment goals, including opportunities to work with a Job Coach/Job Developer for ongoing support on a fee for service basis.

This in person Job Readiness Course Includes:

  • 32 hours in class learning during the first 8 weeks
    ○ Mondays 9:30 am – 11:30 am
    ○ Wednesdays 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm
  • Hands on skills evaluation at 2 or 3 different community sites
    ○ Approximately 6 hours to occur over the 8 weeks
    ○ Days and times to be discussed the first week of class
  • One to one resume work
  • Literacy Evaluation (approximately 1.5 hours)
  • Practice interviews with community partners (approximately 2
    hours)

Once registered, an Instructor will connect with you prior to the first class.
